Was drawn in an paintchat oekaki program. Originally his left hand was going to be holding an orb that would complete the picture. I got up and left to make myself something to eat, and when I came back a little girl had filled the spot.
It's extremely good detail for an oekaki sketch - the ragged cloak in particular looks splendid and entirely natural.
Lofn's presence gives the scene a nice hint of ambiguity. Is she a hostage reaching out for help, while the cold and implacable Lord piercingly stares down the would-be rescuer off-panel? Or is she just reaching out to play with the shiny-glowy-pretty-greeny gauss scythe while the creaky old codger Lord holds her back from disintegrating her fingers, exasperated with (but quietly marvelling at) the irrepressible nature of youth? Being able to put a variety of moods into a single picture is good skill.

This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.

It's like the scene to the short text "N'kele Slaughter"?
The technical aspect of it alone is nice, throw in the deep emotions it plays off of and you sir have one awesome picture.
